HAMILTON HUME PDE

Public BBQ

This suburban reserve delivers a well-thought-out combination of practicality and family appeal. The barbecue facilities sit beneath solid undercover areas that provide genuine relief from Melbourne's unpredictable weather - a detail that becomes particularly appreciated when clouds roll in mid-sausage. The picnic tables are positioned with enough space for families to spread out comfortably, though one might grumble about the typical council furniture that seems designed more for durability than comfort. The playground keeps younger visitors thoroughly occupied while parents tend to the barbie, creating that quintessentially Australian scene of organised chaos. The reserve maintains a tidy, no-nonsense atmosphere that suggests regular maintenance, even if the surroundings lack the charm of more established parklands. For suburban barbecuing with the family, it ticks the essential boxes without unnecessary flourishes.
